Introducing Lucia, a beautiful Short hair border collie mix who has captured my heart in ways I never imagined. Rescued from the tough streets of Watts, California, Lucia was in desperate need of help. After being hit by a car, she endured unimaginable suffering—her body bearing the scars of neglect, filled with fleas and ticks, fighting infections, and battling anemia. With no plan in place, I felt compelled to save this sweet soul.

Fortunately, an incredible and experienced foster stepped in to provide Lucia with a safe home filled with support and love. A friend from a local rescue also offered assistance through her veterinarians, and we had to act quickly.

After multiple vet visits, Lucia faced the heart-wrenching decision to amputate her leg—the only option to save her life. Now, she bravely embraces her new identity as a "tripod dog," full of spirit and love, defying the odds.
