Hello family and friends. As most of you know, my Kuya (older brother), Lope Elwin Tolosa, passed away on May 5, 2024. It’s been an emotional roller coaster, and now after all these months, we finally have his remains with us.

It was tragic news to my family and I. On the morning of May 6th, we got a knock on our door around 2 a.m. from a deputy from the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office, who informed us with a note on our front door that my brother had passed away. Unfortunately, due to his circumstances, he was in the Sacramento County Jail at the time of his passing. The media said that he was “found unresponsive during a cell check,” and by the time someone got there, it was already too late. His cause of death has been ruled as Hemorrhagic Intestinal Volvulus.

Our mom, Matilde, my niece, Kitana (his daughter), and I are asking for donations to help plan my brother’s funeral service. Anything will help. We greatly appreciate you!
