All updates are at the bottom:
Logan was working on a dog gate and the very last brad nail ricocheted and shot him in the right eye. When he realized there was a piece of it in his eye, instinct kicked in and he pulled it out. He ripped the cornea, sclera, and iris. He also partially deflated his eye by pulling some of the vitreous fluid out, which had to be amputated. He has had one surgery so far, but another will be needed for the lens to be replaced due to a trauma cataract. So far, the retina has remained attached, which is very good news, but his vision is still just blurred with a little color, but only up to a couple of feet tops. He hasn't been able to work, and the bills are already compiling. Plus, his appointments are in Iowa City, which is a 3-hour drive each direction.

I am just hopeful that this will help with paying medical bills to save his sight because he is uninsured, this will also help with other finances do to being off work for prolonged period. I will keep this updated as time continues.

UPDATE: Second surgery is Thursday morning. They will be removing viscous material and blood from the eye chamber a vetrectomy and he will have to have a gas bubble put in his eye to hold the retina in place he also is having a lensectomy having the lens removed and God willing everything goes perfect he can have a new lens put in during the same surgery. Then Friday he will have a checkup to see if the surgery I'm mainly guessing the gas bubble worked and that his retina is still in tact and didn't detach. This is a 39,000.00 surgery if that says the seriousness of it! More updates to come Thursday!

UPDATE: Logan had second surgery yesterday morning it went well but not as good as we had hoped... they found the retina slightly detached so instead of a gas bubble which kinda dissolves they put in a oil bubble which will later have to be removed. He had to sleep face down all night which is very awkward he hated it. For the whole week he had to look down at least 95% of the day. They did completely remove the lense and they couldn't put one in at this time. His eye is on a long journey to health but he's very strong willed and a tough man. But this is a long time of him off work. Dr. Russell said at least a month. This whole week he is not allowed to do anything but look down. His next appointment is July 9th so we will have more to update then.
