Hi everyone, my granddaughter Lizzie who just turned 15 on the 21st of this month, had to have spinal surgery a couple of weeks ago to correct her scoliosis. She had a 67-degree curve in her lumbar and a 35-degree curve in her thoracic. They did a spinal fusion with bone grafts including metal rods. She came through the surgery great, but now there are complications due to the lower curve. She now has to go back in for another surgery as one of the screws in her spine is coming out.
My daughter Jessica's work doesn't have paid FMLA, so she will have to take leave without pay again for this surgery. Lizzie will be in the hospital again for 3 to 5 days. Any help is appreciated to help Jessica and the family.
