Donate to Liz's Playground Tribute for Joe

Liz Halligan joined our early learning center, Penfield Presbyterian Early Learning Center, in December of 2021 since then she has brought love and joy to the children in her care daily.

As we have gotten to know Liz over the years, we have also seen her face many losses in a short amount of time. Within her first year at PPELC she lost her father and this past fall and winter she lost her mother and fiancé, Joe Brady. Both losses were sudden and unexpected within a few months of each other.

Liz and Joe shared a passion for the outdoors and often would spend their weekends visiting campgrounds and exploring nature. It was a special activity that gave them time together away from the busyness of day-to-day life.

Throughout all these challenges Liz has continued to be a source of love and consistency for those in her care. As a way to show our love and support for Liz Halligan and to honor Joe Brady we have decided to build a play structure for the children of PPELC in the shape of a retro camper. The camper will be dedicated to Joe Brady and be placed on our preschool playground.

The location of the play structure will replace a memorial in honor of a previous staff member, Jenny Ottman’s, daughter who was lost in childbirth. The play structure needs several repairs and Jenny has agreed to give the location for this new memorial to be placed in its location keeping the tradition of using the location to honor a staff member’s lost loved ones.

We are looking to purchase materials by the end of June 2024 to start construction in the Fall of 2024.

In order to complete this memorial, we will be hoping to receive $1,200 in donations to cover the cost of the supplies needed to build the Retro Camper play structure.
