“Put your money where your love is.” – Grateful Dead.

Hi folks. When it became apparent to me what our friend Ducky has been through health/financially wise, I asked him if I could put together a GFM account. Ducky has been dealing with the fallout of having had a stroke back in December amongst other health issues that have made him unable to function as in the past to provide for himself and others.

By the way, having known Ducky as I do for the man that he is, makes doing this act of kindness for him a blessing for me. I met Ducky seemingly decades ago at a Wormtown music festival where he could be found sharing his famous Capt. Morgan infused cherries. What drew me to Ducky over time was much more. His compassionate heart became apparent to me when I realized he was committed to working with folks with cognitive disabilities as an adult foster care provider. Ducky enhanced the life experience of those he committed to work with in commendable fashion, to say the least. He brought his compadres to heights of joy that I’ve witnessed many times by bringing them to attend music festivals and getting them to engage in the fun that can be found at such events.

With his hands full already, Ducky and friends started Ash Street Puppetworks. Yet another way to create and deliver happiness to others. If you’ve been attending the Wormtown festivals (and others) over the years, you’ve probably met or seen Ducky in action. Ducky is a rare bird that I am very happy to call my friend. He has always impressed me with his self-sustainable lifestyle. By that I mean, here’s a man who converted his own truck to operate/run on cooking oil. He would get a contract with a local restaurant to plow their property in the winter in exchange for the cooking oil in order to fuel his truck.

At the time of his stroke (and presently), he is working on a trailer home in order to live and travel about in a manner that suits his needs. With these few words said about our friend, I encourage everyone to share words of encouragement and some form of monetary donation to help lighten Ducky’s load. You can also send him cash directly as I did on FB/Venmo etc. in order to save on any deductions of this platform. Much love all. Dare to care, share, and bear as we all need a helping hand now and then! Thank you and please share this post far and wide. Ducky thanks you ahead of time.
