Hi,

My name is Lexi, and I would like to begin by thanking you for reading my fundraiser.

I am a dual-enrolled student at a middle college program high school within LAUSD and a student at a local community college. I have been diligently working towards graduating high school in 2026 alongside earning 4 different associate degrees at the same time. The degrees I am working towards are:

1) Arts and Humanities

2) History

3) Behavioral and Social Sciences

4) Administration of Justice

The workload has been rigorous, but I have been able to maintain a 4.0 unweighted GPA while multi-tasking the ASB club, MCNC club, National Honor Society, President of the Criminology club, and playing softball year-round.

I am excited to announce that I have been nominated by my school to attend the National Youth Leadership forum LAW & CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) program at the University of Maryland in July. This program is an 8-day course of condensed material taught by university professors and forensic scientists who discuss the latest high-tech applications that are used during criminal investigations. The program includes tuition, room & board within the dorms, site visits, transportation from the airport, lectures, simulations, curriculum & materials, as well as obtaining college credits upon completion of this course.

My ultimate goal is to apply for a Criminology program this fall, and the University of Maryland was already one of my top two choices for college. Attending this program will show my dedication to the career pathway that their program offers while enhancing my college application at the same time.

The reason for the fundraiser is due to the high cost of the program. The program is $4,395.00 and it does not include transportation to and from California. As you can see, I have been working extremely hard to achieve my goals, but I would hate to miss this awesome opportunity due to the cost. I ask if in any way possible you could assist with a donation to help me reach my goal, or get as close to it as I possibly can. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
