Hi everyone!

My name is Jana Willard and I am creating this GoFundMe in hopes of getting some support for my mother, Leslie Nickless. Over the last year, she has gone through a lot of hardships that unfortunately have depleted her savings, causing her to have to sell her home and move into low income housing.

After being sick for several months in the fall of 2022 into the spring of 2023, she decided it was time to go see what was going on. In March of 2023, she learned she had lung cancer. Not only did she find out she had lung cancer, but also that she had COPD and pulmonary fibrosis. Along with this came a series of lung infections (one every other month). She could no longer work, as she was now on constant oxygen due to the inability to breathe and also needed to complete radiation for the cancer. She was hopeful that the radiation and multiple rounds of antibiotics would get her back to her normal self and she would be able to return to her job, as she was a hard worker who truly enjoyed what she did and the people she worked for! This did not pan out as planned, as it’s a year and a half later and she is still on oxygen and the doctors have found a new spot of concern on her lungs.

Her bills total around $2,000 a month and she has only been able to be assisted with $600 monthly. Her once large savings is completely gone after a year and a half of this being her financial situation. She is now being forced to sell her home and move into low-income housing because she simply doesn’t have the means to keep it.

If you know Leslie, you know she has a big heart and helps anyone who needs it with no questions asked. She would give you the shirt off her back if she thought you needed it more than her.
