Help Sponsor LEO Foundation's Holiday Event for Kids

Donation protected
Hello!

My name is Adelle Banjac and I launched and direct the Lighthouse Enlightenment Orphanage (LEO) Foundation in 2021 to help assist 25 children located in Ramanthapuram, India outside of Madurai. My directors and I have been working together in providing food, education, shelter, clothes, events for activities, and access to resources in the area they are located in.

This foundation was created and launched after a NDE I experienced at the end of 2020. While I was in recovery from that experience, I felt highly called to work with Sen to help in any way that would be beneficial to the kids.

Senthoor, who is from India originally, used to be a sponsored child of Compassion International. When Sen outgrew that program, he sought out to continue helping other orphans within his region by assisting with children that were left in the streets and taking them in to care for them. The unofficial original name of the foundation was the Kalam Orphanage Foundation that was later changed and finalized through the State to the Lighthouse Enlightenment Orphanage where we now foster and care for 25 children within the foundation along with as many children in the village of Ramanthapuram that we are able to help as possible.

Each year, we work very hard to be able to provide these kids with as many resources and tools possible to continue their studies in school, in the two hostels they are staying in, as well as within the community they are in. We work to provide them with two major events each year, for Christmas and for Easter. In January 2024, we purchased a plot of land to be able to build on the land for the foundation. Our goal with that land is to eventually build a home and place for the children to all be in one place while continuing to aid in their education for their future.

After 3, almost 4, years of working via video calls, live streams and from Idaho overseas with this foundation, I had the honor of traveling to India with a cherished friend of mine, Christina Campbell to work with the children one on one and tend in the ways necessary. We were able to help around 142 children in total while we were which was a blessing and a miracle in itself. We were able to provide the children with gift bags that included essential needs likes bathroom supplies, school supplies, supplies for their families homes, necklaces, water bottles, rugs, and toys.

Being able to go and experience their day to day was truly a humbling experience. To see how they work in the fields, work together as a community to support one another and to also see their living conditions alone puts a lot into perspective. Although, all of our kids currently do not have beds to sleep on and sleep on the cement foundations of their homes, we hope to be able to one day provide a shelter that will have the proper arrangements for the children like proper beds, pillows, showers and rooms to call their own.

For this years 4th Christmas and Holiday Event/Function, We are looking to raise a $3,900 minimum for the kids to be able to provide the kids with more clothes and reload their bathroom supplies that they may need.

The $3,900 includes the estimate for a projector for their school and education in the village (which will further the education for more than just the children of the foundation but the children in the village as well), the costs for each child in the foundation for the supplies/gifts for Christmas, the transportation in getting them to and from the event which is roughly 2 hours one way, costs for food for the kids at the event, fees for event center, and costs to have host families join and chaperone/volunteer to watch kids and work with the kids.

We are also receiving donations through Venmo under @LEOfoundation that will also be going directly to the foundation accounting. If you have any questions or would like to know more, please feel free to reach out to me via WhatsApp or facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lighthouse.enlightenment.orphanage.
