Leilah's Journey: A Family in Need
Our beloved Leilah, a bright and talented 17-year-old, is currently facing a significant health challenge. Recently diagnosed with Wilson's Disease, a rare genetic disorder that can cause severe damage to the liver, Leilah has been hospitalized and underwent a successful liver transplant surgery today, October 17th.
Leilah was initially feeling unwell on October 5th, and her symptoms quickly worsened. After being transported to the hospital, she was diagnosed with Wilson's Disease. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, her condition continued to deteriorate, and it became apparent that a liver transplant would be necessary.
We are incredibly grateful that the transplant surgery was a success. While there is still a long road ahead for Leilah's recovery, this is a significant milestone in her journey.
The financial burden of this medical emergency is immense. The cost of hospitalization, medications, surgeries, and ongoing post-transplant care is overwhelming.
Leilah is a dedicated student and athlete, involved in AP classes, leadership roles, and varsity dance at Livermore High School. Her passion for learning and extracurricular activities has been put on hold during this difficult time.
Your generous support will help us alleviate this financial stress, allowing us to focus on providing Leilah with the best possible care during this challenging period. By helping Leilah and her family, you are supporting a bright young person with an even brighter future.
Thank you for your kindness.
