My incredibly talented, creative, resourceful, brave, and resilient sister is going through a very difficult time right now and could use some help.

12 months ago, due to a reorganization at her company, Leah lost her job. She has been tirelessly searching for a new job, unsuccessfully.

As plans B, C, and D, she has dreamt up other options for herself. She has been painting houses, has applied for and received a general contractor's license, and has also begun steps to create a food business for herself.

Sadly, a serious back injury has thwarted all of these options.

Leah has exhausted her savings during this time and has also utilized all of the government benefits available to her. This includes filing for bankruptcy, forbearance for her mortgage, assistance with her bills, enrollment in Medicaid, and SNAP benefits. I share all of this information with you to illustrate the gravity of her situation. Leah's next move will be to pull funds from her retirement. If she does this, she will lose all forms of government assistance.

Leah does not know that I am doing this GoFundMe plea. She likely would not want me to do this, but she really is out of options and I am hoping that a small sum of money will help get her through a few more months, during which time she will continue to search for employment and heal her back.
