Help Lazlo After Life-Saving Surgery
Hello, friends,
My name is Ari, and my sweet boy Lazlo and I are reaching out for support.
This past May, Lazlo experienced a urinary blockage, a condition that, if left untreated, could have been fatal. After a terrifying emergency trip to the vet and a few days in recovery, he was successfully unblocked, only to sadly re-block less than 24 hours later.
Upon returning to the same vet, I left Lazlo in their care, and we discussed taking the same course of action. However, a few hours after dropping him off, I received a call from the hospital notifying me that his urethra had torn during an attempt to reinsert his catheter. This forced us into a very difficult decision: either finance an estimated $10,000 for a perineal urethrostomy (PU) surgery (which ultimately cost closer to $13,000), or make the heartbreaking choice of euthanasia.
Thanks to the generosity of the doctors at Medvet Chicago, we were able to move forward with surgery. They kindly covered about $6,000 toward the cost of the procedure.
The surgery was a success, and Lazlo is now thriving and very happy! I’m incredibly grateful to the team of vets and nurses who took such wonderful care of him.
However, the total cost of Lazlo’s surgery and post-op care that I am left to pay is still about $7,000. While I’ve been able to cover a portion of the expenses, I still have $4,800 remaining. As you can imagine, this has put a significant strain on my finances, and I’m reaching out for help.
If you’re able to contribute, every donation—no matter how small—will go directly toward Lazlo’s medical bills. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this campaign with your friends and family can make a huge difference in helping us reach our goal.
Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and generosity.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Ari & Lazlo
