My name is Laurel Hennig and I am fast approaching a long-awaited surgery to fix what is called a Tethered Cord. This is a lower back surgery in which I will be flying with my mom and partner to Cincinnati, Ohio to receive. We are staying for a total of 12 nights, and I am required to take off a minimum of 8 weeks from work to recover.

I have a few weeks of paid leave, but it’s not quite enough to cover the time I will have to be absent. The trip itself is also a large cost with flights, stays, and eating food while we are there.

I am at the point where I know I need to ask for help, so I am asking for whatever you have to give. Really, anything helps and it means the world to me that you are taking the time to read this and even consider it.
