My name is Heather and I'm sharing this story on behalf of my mother, Laura Wilson. She's a 68-year-old devoted wife and loving mother battling cancer. On June 20th, 2025, she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. The cancer had already spread to her lymph nodes and into her brain. One of the brain masses is sitting directly on her brain stem, which has caused lots of movement issues on her right side. In less than 2 months, she's gone from walking to a wheelchair, from independence to needing me as a full-time caregiver. This diagnosis has been devastating and life-changing.

Laura has always been a strong woman who worked hard to take care of her family. She's a very proud mother, sister, aunt, friend, and "Uncle Laura" to some lol. Whether it was at home with family and friends, working in school kitchens, or volunteering at the local food pantry, she always made sure we were all fed. Always there for us in moments of need, and now I'm asking that we return the favor. Laura is facing a very intense and urgently needed treatment plan including chemotherapy, radiation, MRIs, imaging scans, labs, travel expenses, unexpected daily living expenses, and the list goes on. The physical toll is enormous, not to mention the emotional weight she feels not being able to care for herself or her husband while medical bills are mounting. Laura has always been a strong, selfless, caring person that always lends a hand, and now we're asking for your help during this rough time.
