My name is Martina Taylor and I am trying to raise money for my new dog, Lady’s veterinarian visits. About two months ago, she showed up in my backyard, at the edge of my property. Obviously abused and abandoned, she would not come anywhere near us, but she would play with my two dogs when I let them out. I was not prepared to take on another pet, but there was no way I was going to let her starve or take her to an already crowded Humane Society. We started feeding her slowly, moving her food dish closer to the house every time. On Christmas night, my mom and I finally got her to come in the house completely and relax. She sleeps in bed with me and my other two dogs every night and has turned out to be a great dog, completely loyal and devoted to us already.

My mother is on SSI and I work privately doing at-home care with the elderly. I recently lost my full-time job because my patient passed away. I still have another patient that I assist occasionally, but money is extremely tight right now. Until I find another caregiving job, I am having to cut out a lot of my expenses.

I would love to be able to afford to take Lady to the vet soon to get her necessary shots and eventually have her spayed. I have a male dog that is intact also.

After I made a Facebook post about Lady and my financial situation, I have had an extremely generous and kind-hearted individual donate a 40-pound bag of dog food to be delivered every four weeks to my home! The generosity of people never ceases to amaze me when you are in a time of need. We are very thankful to the person who donated that food. We would also be extremely thankful to anyone who can help by donating money towards Lady’s veterinarian bills. I will be making her first appointment at Austin Veterinary Clinic this Monday, December 29th. I will keep everyone updated on Facebook about Lady’s progress and any care she receives.
