We picked up Lady from the street corner by Anderson Elementary School in Compton where she had been living for at least 2 weeks. Neighbors were kind enough to bring her food and water but animal control wasn’t willing to do anything. We found her post on Neighbors and decided to pick her up. After 2 nights, lots of food, and some patience we were finally able to get her on a leash and bring her home.
When we first pick up Lady, she was extremely underweight, covered in fleas, scar, open wounds, was missing fur, and had an ear infection in both ears. We’ve taken her to the vet to get examined and got some medication for her ears but are paying all of these costs out of pocket. Her initial vet visit with diagnostic tests, medication, and vaccines was $900. I am covering all of her expenses, but can only afford so much on my own. I would still like get Lady spayed, microchipped, and get her the remainder of her vaccines. If you’re able to donate anything towards the remainder of her medical costs we would greatly appreciate it. All funds will go directly towards her care.
I have reached out to many rescues and am continuing to do so, however most rescues are already at capacity and unable to officially take her on to cover her expenses.
Lady is a very sweet girl who is looking for an adoptive home if you know anyone who may be interested. She is very friendly with people, dogs, and is fully house trained. Lady loves small dogs, but is still gaining her confidence around bigger dogs. With enough time and patience, she will become anyone’s best friend. She is a couch potato who enjoys naps and cuddles throughout the day. Lady has no indication of longterm medical issues that would require further treatment.
