Update: Kyzer is fighting. She has stabilized and her doc is calling her a miracle. She’s no where near out of the woods but has improved. They are weaning off of the ventilator and her sedation. She’s communicating with Nichole by squeezing her hand when asking questions. We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the love you have shown. Whatever you’re doing keep doing it because something is working. Her fight is just beginning and it’s still very unknown how long this journey is going to take. Right now, Kyzer is at Dorenbecher's Children’s Hospital fighting for her life. On Saturday, August 3rd, Kyzer was found unresponsive at home. Nichole had to perform CPR on her while they waited for EMS to arrive. She was transported to a local hospital. While there, they discovered that she had pneumonia, multiple blood clots, and a softball-sized mass in her abdomen. She was then life-flighted to Portland where she is fighting for breath and life. At this time, they are taking it minute by minute. The doctors described it as a teeter-totter. One organ system starts improving and another fails. The mass in her abdomen is putting pressure on her portal vein causing organ failure. They are working around the clock to try to save her.

Nichole and Kristina are going to be missing time from work and their home in Medford. Kristina will be going back and forth. Nichole will be staying with Kyzer.
