In August of 2017, my sister Krystal was diagnosed with breast cancer. She bravely underwent a bilateral mastectomy and chemotherapy, and for the past eight years, she’s been in remission.
But in late September 2024, Krystal began experiencing severe hip pain—pain so intense she often couldn’t stand or walk without help. She visited the ER multiple times, only to be sent home with pain medications and muscle relaxers, and shockingly, no imaging or diagnostic testing was ever done despite her cancer history.
Just this past week, everything changed. Krystal found a new oncologist in Erie, PA, who immediately recognized the urgency of her symptoms and sent her to the ER for proper imaging. After undergoing several CT scans, bone scans, and MRIs, Krystal was diagnosed with metastatic cancer—multiple lesions have been found throughout her body.
She now faces an incredibly difficult journey ahead. On Monday, April 14, she will be fitted for a radiation mask to begin treatment for three lesions found in her brain. She’ll also undergo a CT-guided liver biopsy and begin radiation therapy for lesions in her spine and iliac crest. On Thursday, April 17, she meets with her oncologist to finalize her chemotherapy plan.
Krystal is doing her best to stay strong and continue working from home, but her treatments will be aggressive, and her ability to work consistently is uncertain.
This GoFundMe is being set up to help cover her day-to-day expenses, medical bills, and treatment-related costs as she begins this fight.
Krystal is a loving mother to her 10-year-old daughter, Aubrey, who is her entire world and the reason she’s fighting with everything she has.
Our family is absolutely devastated, but we are standing by her with hope, strength, and love.
Any contribution you can make—no matter the amount—will go directly to supporting Krystal through this incredibly difficult time. Please keep her in your prayers and send healing thoughts her way.
We’ll continue to update this page as her journey unfolds. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.
