Hi Everyone, Our amazing friend is going through a big life change right now after having a hysterecomy. This recovery is tricky and needs 6-8 weeks of rest. Anyone that knows Kristle knows how giving she is to her friendships and how much she brings to our mountain community. She's got a big heart for all of us and it's our turn to take care of her.

After getting mixed medical diagnoses and fighting to be heard by doctors, Kristle finally found one that listened and has been told she needs to undergo a total hysterectomy. It's a decision that is medically necessary due to ongoing complications from fibroids, adenomyosis, and endometriosis.

From Kristle: "I'll spare the details, but it hit me hard last winter, with other subtle symptoms starting three years ago. This has affected my life, my health, daily functions, insecurities, and my day-to-day well-being."

This surgery isn't something I've ever imagined I'd be facing, but it's now the only path toward getting my health and overall well-being in a positive direction. My doctor, knowing how much the mountain means to me, expedited my surgery so I would be able to recover by the time the snow flies. Punchline: Insurance won't cover this surgery. This timing left me a month to try and fight insurance and go through multiple appeals, asking for financial assistance through the hospital, with only the same answer being no. I'm currently waiting for a hearing to help my case be seen as a necessary procedure because, unfortunately, hysterectomies are not always viewed as necessary or needed surgeries.

Asking for help is tough. The medical bill for this surgery is very overwhelming, the fundraiser goal is modest in comparison just enough to help ease the burden.
