Support Kristi's Journey to a Miracle from Esophageal Cancer
Donation protected
This is my sister's journey with Esophageal Cancer, and we are asking for any gifts of love to help them with extensive medical and home bills, travel expenses to MD Anderson and multiple testing that is needed to help her overcome this season. She is no longer able to work and my brother in love had to leave his job to care for her. We have a goal, however, any gift of love sown is truly appreciated. Please see her recent story below:
MY JOURNEY by Kristi Armstrong Dunbar
God shows himself true each and every day. The past few months have been rough but I'm still here.
I had my feeding tube placement in February. I adjusted to that. I started to have trouble breathing. I didn't sleep for five nights. I was delirious. I went to the doctor scared because I couldn't breathe and was in the operating room by 3pm that day for an emergency tracheotomy. I'm still adjusting to that. I've had it for about 2 months now. I was recently in the hospital for pneumonia, and another trip last week for dehydration. Three hospitalizations since receiving my trach. I was hospitalized a few weeks ago for septic infection. Chemo knocks my immune system down which opens the door for infection, and now I have been taken off of it, because chemo isn't working for me anymore. I have been on every one they can give me. My tumor has not shrunk. I'm still believing in God for a miracle! We will be visiting MD Anderson in Houston, TX again next week to seek extensive treatment options. I'm still believing in God for a miracle!
My support team is nothing short of amazing. My husband came home for good from his job to care for me. The way he cares for me is beautiful. I couldn't ask for better!
My sister and daughter, Shelby, make sure I am cared for properly and nobody skips a beat. I love them so much for being my eyes and ears when I can't. I am unable to speak due to the trach. My family and friends are amazing! My children, grandchildren and nieces surround me with so much love and support. My Aunts and cousins check on me almost daily. My friends Nicole, Marcia, Shanta come sit with me as much as they can and help me around the house. My bestie Zaynah is in Atlanta but will move heaven and earth, if I need her. They pour so much love into me.
There are so many others that have shown love to me. My classmates check on me constantly...Thank you MCK c/o '96.
Everyone that has donated items and financial blessings, you are sincerely appreciated and loved. All the prayers are felt and heard because I'M STILL HERE!
God is a HEALER!!!!!! I'm believing in a Miracle! God will heal me on THIS side. I love the Lord with everything in me and I feel his love all around me.
