Help Kris Ford Heal After Hiking Injury – Support Surgery & Recovery Costs
Hi everyone,
I’m writing to share the story of my sister Kris Ford, who recently shattered her ankle in two places while doing what she loves best.
Kris was hiking in the Presidio in San Francisco when she tripped and suffered the injury. After a visit to the ER and follow-ups with specialists, it was confirmed that she would need surgery to repair the damage.
Kris has since undergone surgery, and while she’s staying positive, the recovery is tough. She’s currently unable to bear any weight on her foot and has been told she’ll need 10–12 weeks of complete rest and immobility — followed by physical therapy and more follow-up care. This means she's temporarily unable to do everyday tasks on her own.
As you can imagine, the financial impact of this has been overwhelming. Even with insurance, the cost of:
* Surgery and hospital bills
* Follow-up visits
* Physical therapy
* Medications
* Medical equipment
That’s why we’re reaching out to friends, family, and kind strangers for support.
If you know Kris, you know she’s the first to offer help, encouragement, and love when someone else is struggling. Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
Any donation—no matter the size—will make a real difference and help take the weight off her shoulders while she focuses on healing and getting back on her feet (literally!). Even if you can’t donate, sharing this campaign would mean the world.
With love and gratitude,
Pamela Ford (lil sis to Kris)
