Konstantin Fam, a filmmaker known for the Holocaust movie Witnesses and others (IMDb link), is recovering from a severe complication after Parainfluenza-4. In July he had a cough bleeding and was taken to Stanford hospital. More than a week, the doctors tried to stop the bleeding. On July 5th, he had to undergo a surgery - the embolization of a lung artery. The surgery went well but unexpectedly, he had to be transferred to ICU. He was intubated as he stopped breathing. He spent a week in ICU, four days of those on the vent. In two days after dismissal he had another episode of bleeding and had to undergo another major surgery which was partial lung removal - lobectomy. On July 19th, he had this surgery at UCSD and has been recovering since then. He still takes painkillers, experiencing weakness, headache, etc.
