Hi!
I’m Erica Sorenson and I’m raising funds to help with my dog Kit’s medical expenses which are increasing at a rapid rate, faster than the speed of light. Certainly faster than my paycheck!
Kit is a big girl, 90 lbs, part Anatolian Shepard and part Lab. She’s 15 years old and has hip dysplasia and Stage 4 arthritis, which has fused her spine and has been especially hard on her knees. She is on anti-inflammatories and pain killers to make her as comfortable as she can be.
Her monthly pain meds are about $300 a month and her trip to the ER last week was $1,000. I’m sure there will be more of those visits. Her doctor appointments are $98.00 just to look sideways at her. X-rays of her left leg ran $500 at the ER so I did not get one because I can't afford it. But she does need that soon. We don't know if she has cancer or not at this time.
A couple months ago, Kit became unable to walk without us assisting her with a big sheet we use to wrap around her to keep her moving and
from falling over. And last month she developed a huge hematoma on the left back thigh which keeps her leg swollen down to that foot. Her left leg is almost useless now. We have her on the pain killer Gabapentin but her anti-inflammatory needs to be changed to a stronger more expensive one, Rymidol. We tried a $150 a month shot of Librela but it didn't work. Not sure if it actually caused her hematoma.
Kit is sweet and fun-loving with a silly sense of humor and an unbeatable smile. She has a big loud bark (Anatolian Shepard guard dog bark), loves people, loves children, and loves other dogs! I don't know how long she has to live but she still eats like a horse, wags her tail, and loves smelling the smells around the marsh. She misses her daily walks. She finds her roommate, Rider the Cat, very entertaining.
