This May, my son Kingston will be graduating high school as an early graduate at just 16 years old. Words cannot fully express how proud I am of him. Kingston is the first male in my family to reach this milestone, and his accomplishment represents so much more than a diploma—it represents the breaking of generational barriers. Many of the men before him were not able to finish high school, but Kingston has rewritten that story and opened the door to a new legacy for our family.

Graduating this young is only the beginning of his journey. Kingston already has a clear vision for his future. He plans to begin technical school next semester to pursue a trade in HVAC, equipping himself with practical skills that will allow him to work and build a strong foundation early in life. After completing his trade certification, he intends to further his education by attending a four-year college to earn his bachelor’s degree in technology.

As his mother, I want nothing more than to give him the best start possible in this new chapter. I’ve watched Kingston put in the hard work, make sacrifices, and stay focused when it would have been easy to give up. He has shown maturity, determination, and drive beyond his years.
