Hello! My name is Tara, and I am good friends with Carmen and Tim. Many of you may remember that around Labor Day, Carmen and her family went through an emotional whirlwind when their cat, Ivy, went missing. For six long weeks, they searched nonstop, and the community rallied around them with incredible support — and miraculously, Ivy was found.

Just a few weeks later, Ivy passed away suddenly from what was believed to be a heart attack, leaving the family completely heartbroken.

Fast forward to this week, when their newest kitten, Kevin, became extremely ill — vomiting, not eating, and clearly in distress. After rushing him to the vet and running multiple tests, they learned he had a severe and life-threatening blockage from something he had swallowed. Despite trying everything, Kevin needed immediate emergency surgery to survive.

The total cost of tests, hospitalization, and surgery came to $8,000. As parents, Carmen and Tim felt they had no choice — they couldn’t let their children lose yet another beloved pet so soon after Ivy.
