You never know where life might take you. The twists and turns are unpredictable. This could be any one of us.
Last July, my friend, artist Kerry Steele, was diagnosed with liver disease and had to quit painting her large-scale paintings due to extreme exhaustion. She has been in and out of the hospital and is on lots of medications to keep the ammonia out of her brain.
In January 2025, Kerry Steele was told she needed a liver transplant. She has been waiting for six months for the transplant. Because she is no longer able to work as she usually did, and because insurance doesn't cover everything, Kerry needs help to cover her medical expenses.
Kerry was an artist who was always willing to provide a piece of art for me when I was working on showhouses or special events. She even painted a piece for my own home. Her kind heart and generosity know no boundaries. I know she has been generous with many of you as well, so I am creating this GoFundMe to try to give back to her in her time of need. She is hopeful to "get on the list" for a liver in August.
If Kerry has touched you with her generosity, please consider donating to this fund as a way to express your gratitude. If you have been sick or have an ill loved one, you know how things like this can make a difference.
Please consider donating to help our friend out. She would never ask for help and was hesitant for me to do this, but I insisted.
Kerry has tried to paint small things in hopes of raising money for the transplant, and she does have a few pieces available for sale on this site.
https://palettehome.co/art/art-for-sale/kerry-steele/ as well as her Facebook page.
But honestly, as her friend, I know she needs to save her energy so she will be strong enough should the right liver become available for her.
Even if you don't know Kerry, I would appreciate a donation to help my friend. No amount is too small. Thank you so much for your help.
