Update on Kenny, I stopped by today to see Kenny and the family. Kenny is doing okay, he has along way to go. Memory is spotty, it comes and goes. Chris and the girls are working hard to continue his care at home. Please continue to keep them all in your prayers. It could be months or even years before they will know if he’s going to be okay and back to his goofy self.
Thank you all for your support, prayers and shares!!
Please help support this amazing family with their medical bills and everyday life needs.

On the evening of March 1, Kenny had an unimaginable accident falling off a ladder and was in the ICU at UIHC for two brain bleeds and a severe TBI. He is now in a rehabilitation hospital trying to learn and remember life all over again. Kenny will be discharged home from inpatient rehab on 3/29. After a lot of discussion with his therapists, the family decided that they would be able to make accommodations to provide 24/7 supervision so that he could continue the journey of healing surrounded by family at home. He will be continuing outpatient therapy at On With Life.

The Slaton family has been in our lives for over 22 years. My two girls were besties with Chris and Kenny's two daughters growing up. We spent many weekends traveling together and hanging out at each other's homes. The Slaton family is one of the humblest families you will ever meet. They rarely ask for help, even when needed, but they would be the first to show up to help others.

I would like to share a bit about this sweet, amazing family. Kenny's family business, Ken-Way Sewer Service, was founded by his father Bob. Kenny started at a very young age running calls with his father. He continued over the many years to work side by side with him. Kenny has made it into his career and now runs the business himself with the help of his own loving family. He is a hard worker and loves the business his father created. Kenny has made great progress however brain traumas can take months to two years for complete healing. However, due to the severe brain trauma the future holds a lot of unknowns.

Kenny's wife Chris and their daughter Danica are both employed by the company. With it being a small family business it makes it easier to accommodate his healing journey at home but will also bring on challenges. This will take a toll financially for the business and personally for the family.

God put it on my heart to reach out for help for this precious family. They need prayers and financial support for their medical bills and everyday life needs. I know many have helped already and the Slaton's thank you.
God Bless you all and thank you so very much. If you are able to give, please help. We would love your prayers and if you can share this post that could make such a big impact on this beautiful family. Love you all!!
