Hello all, we are setting up an account to help our parents, Kenneth and Jamie Cothren. Kenneth has been in and out of the hospital for months with his kidneys and diabetes. He was finally doing better and was just getting back to work, then broke his ankle. Due to his neuropathy, he had no idea he broke his ankle and was walking around on it for 3 weeks. His leg swelled so badly he ended up in the ER. Then it has been a roller coaster since then. He had emergency surgery to repair his ankle with bolts and screws. Then he got a blood clot, so he was put on blood thinners. Two weeks later, Jamie had to call an ambulance as his stitches burst and he was bleeding out. The pressure of the swelling in his leg caused the incision to open up. Then it was infected, so they needed to remove the bolts and add a temporary rod to heal the infection. He was in the hospital for a while as his blood count was so low. This caused more issues with his kidneys, and now his kidney failure has gotten much worse. Now today, he was told he is scheduled for a 3rd ankle surgery after Thanksgiving. It will be at least 10 more weeks before he can even put weight on his foot. Jamie had to stop working as he can't walk and was so sick he couldn't manage to get out of bed. She was hoping to be back in a couple of weeks, but now he needs another surgery. Between no work and outrageous medical bills, they are in a horrible position. Kenneth has only been able to work a month or so out of the last 8 months. Kenneth is someone who has always worked his butt off. He would work sick as a dog to make sure the family had what they needed. Now he just physically can't. Kenneth has spent years volunteering for his community and has always given back. Now they could really use our help. We ask that if you have anything at all to give, please consider donating. Every little bit will help. Our first goal is to raise enough to get their rent paid. Also, please send prayers for a successful surgery with no additional complications so he can finally get back on his feet.
