Ken Pieper has been through more medical issues in the last 3 yrs than anyone goes through in a lifetime. Initially it was anal cancer followed by chemotherapy and radiation. The chemotherapy caused his hip to deteriorate which led to a hip replacement last fall, dental issues causing the loss of 9 teeth, 2 bone grafts and multiple bouts of cellulitis resulting in hospitalization each time. By the end of last year he thought he had conquered all there was to conquer, until a routine skin cancer check up turned into another medical nightmare. They found an aggressive cancerous tumor on his scalp that needed immediate attention. The surgery left a 5 inch hole in the top of his head that required a skin and artery graft from his forearm. Radiation is needed as the cancer spread to both the fatty tissue and nerves in the surrounding area. Through it all, Ken has remained strong and relied greatly on his faith. Out of need Ken has had to keep working as much as he is physically able. Unfortunately his part time work hasn't been enough to cover all of his living and medical expenses.
