Hi, my name is Bridget and I've got a really good friend with a terrible medical condition (the same one as me!), a brain tumor that causes a terrible, debilitating disease called Cushing's Disease.

Every day is filled with overwhelming muscle and joint pain, like her bones are too heavy for her body to support. Sometimes it’s so intense that she feels like she's carrying a weight that no one else can see, and it can be hard to even get out of bed. The pain makes simple tasks, like walking up the stairs or playing with her daughter, feel like impossible challenges. She never knows which days will come with the extreme headaches and head pressure. The dizziness and constant imbalance only make it harder to function, and she often feels like she's living in a fog, unable to concentrate or think clearly. Even her teeth are hurting her on a daily basis. These symptoms are debilitating to experience everyday and are exactly how I felt with my years long battle with Cushing's.

It makes her so weak to just do normal daily activities, showering, baking with her daughter, brushing her hair, cooking dinner etc, and trying to do the exact same for Hanaa, it's nearly impossible and she is SUFFERING so horribly.

The worst part of all of this is the way it steals moments from her. She misses out on the everyday joys—playing with her child, going for a walk, or even just being present for her family. She's physically here, but her body often can’t keep up. It’s heartbreaking to want to be there, to be the person she used to be, but not be able to. Cushing’s Disease doesn’t just take a toll on her body; it takes a toll on her spirit, too. But she holds on to hope, knowing that with support, treatments, and understanding, there’s still a chance to get her life back.

The hardest part of this disease is that you look okay on the outside. No one would ever know the constant pain your body or mind are in from looking at you. So please, be kind to one another because you never know what someone is going through.

The doctor she needs to see is out of state and doesn't take insurance and is a very highly specialized, leading researcher for cushing's disease and she needs him now.

Once she is finally able to afford to see him, she will then need the ( up to $30,000 a month) medications and brain surgery to remove the pituitary tumor, and again, they will be traveling out of state and staying away from home to receive the care that she desperately needs and deserves.

She's already been battling it for two long years already and is losing hope of ever getting help and living a normal life and just being HER again. It is a horrible feeling that I wish I could take away from her, because I know how bad she's suffering.

She is in the same exact boat I was in with my first brain tumor and Cushing's Disease. Please find it in your hearts to donate anything, even a dollar, every dollar counts and it all adds up. Do it anonymously if you need to, ONE DOLLAR is nothing in the big scheme of things and it adds up so fast!

Let's get her back to being the mom and wife she so desperately WANTS and deserves to be, and was before she got so very sick.
