Hello, my name is Gaby and I’m making this page is on behalf of my dad, Victor.

My dad is a street vendor in DTLA, mostly occupying spaces in Los Callejones. He’s also legally blind and has very limited sight, which makes it difficult for him to maneuver through the streets without his guidance cane.

Since the ICE raids in LA began, he’s been fearful of going out to work due to his compromised status and his disability. He’s received some donations from the community he’s built with members from the Braille Institution, but it’s been increasingly financially difficult for him. Due to the financial and political stress, he’s developed intense anxiety which result in hives all over his face and body.

I’ve created this page in hopes of fundraising some money for him to remain safe at home and not stress about his finances as much. I’ve signed up for multiple organizations that have been fundraising for street vendors and haven’t had any luck with getting responses back.

Hola, me llamo Gaby y estoy creando esta página en nombre de mi padre, Víctor.

Mi padre es vendedor ambulante en el centro de Los Ángeles, principalmente en Los Callejones. También es legalmente ciego y tiene una visión muy limitada, lo que le dificulta moverse por las calles sin su bastón guía.

Desde que comenzaron las redadas del ICE en Los Ángeles, le da miedo salir a trabajar debido a su situación comprometida y a su discapacidad. Ha recibido algunas donaciones de la comunidad que ha creado con miembros de la Institución Braille, pero cada vez le resulta más difícil económicamente. Debido al estrés financiero y político, ha desarrollado una ansiedad intensa que le provoca urticaria en toda la cara y el cuerpo.

He creado esta página con la esperanza de recaudar algo de dinero para que pueda permanecer seguro en casa y no estresarse tanto por sus finanzas. Me he inscrito en varias organizaciones que han estado recaudando fondos para los vendedores ambulantes y no he tenido suerte a la hora de obtener respuestas.
