“Hello, I’m Shakhnoza Kanev, a mother and daughter doing my best to care for my family while battling cancer and recovering from years of financial abuse. I’m raising emergency funds to keep our electric power on, support my elderly mom, and help my daughter start college. Your support means everything to us right now.”
I’m writing this with a heavy heart — as a mother, a daughter, and a woman fighting to survive.
My story: I’m a single mom battling stage IV cancer and severe spinal damage. I worked for over 10 years without pay to build a life with my husband — but when I became too sick to keep working, he abandoned us. He took our savings, stopped paying the bills, and is now trying to take over our home.
We are living in a damaged house that was hit by a truck recently. The entrance is broken, and we’ve lost heat through shattered walls and windows. I’ve received a disconnect notice for our power bill — $1,368 due by April 24th.
I’ve gone days not enough eating so my daughter and mom could have food. I’m exhausted, in pain, and in court almost weekly trying to defend myself — all while managing my medical care and supporting my family.
My daughter just got accepted to college. She deserves a future. She deserves peace and safety — not this nightmare.
I am humbly asking for your support to help us:
• Pay the urgent electric bill and restore safety in our home
• Cover legal and medical costs during my divorce
• Help my daughter start college with dignity and hope
• Provide food, heat, and basic needs for our family
If you’ve ever believed in helping a mom rise again, if you believe in second chances, please consider donating or sharing our story. I kept silent for 9 months, now I’m in my last stage of patience, I’m forced to ask a HELP.
