Help Us Stay Housed While My Mom Heals
Hi, this is Morgan, a full-time caregiver, daughter, and vocal coach from Richmond, VA. I’m raising funds to help cover urgent living expenses for myself and my mom as we continue her remarkable journey of healing.
Before all of this, I was a full-time college student and full-time employee, living completely on my own—financially independent and stable. But everything changed when my mom’s health declined, and I made the decision to step in and care for her full time. With full transparency, that choice came with financial sacrifice—but it was the right one.
Eight months ago, doctors didn’t think my mom would survive. Six months ago, they said she wouldn’t walk, talk, or eat on her own again. But today, she’s doing all of that—and more. She’s defying every medical expectation, and I’m doing everything I can to make sure she keeps progressing.
We’ve already lost her home, and I’m currently facing over $3,000 in back rent on my own apartment. I need to move urgently to avoid eviction. The cost of living in Richmond, VA is high—rent alone averages $1,600/month—and with food, gas, caregiving supplies, and medical needs, I’m barely holding on financially.
I work part-time as a vocal coach, and I’m in the process of becoming her paid caregiver, but that approval takes time. Until then, there’s little income coming in.
I’m asking for help to raise $8,000, which would:
1. Cover overdue rent to prevent eviction
2. Help us secure a safe, new place to live
3. Provide for groceries, gas, medical supplies, and basic needs
4. ️ Give us breathing room while waiting for caregiving income approval
This journey isn’t a sprint—it’s a marathon. Your support would give us a lifeline during this critical time. If you’re able to give or share, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every single contribution helps us move forward with hope and dignity.
With love and gratitude,
Morgan
