Hello. My name is Megin and I am doing something I never thought I would have to do: ask for help from friends and strangers online. This week, I have been in the hospital twice, and I have no health insurance. My husband, David, has had to take time off work to take me to the ER and to take care of me. That time off is unpaid, so we are now looking at almost no money coming in. And it gets worse; I have to go to the doctor tomorrow to get more tests and make sure I have someone who can write me a prescription for the life-saving medications I now have to take daily. We are, like many, living paycheck to paycheck despite working our hardest. We live in a small town with few opportunities for growth or advancement.

But there is some hope. My sister has offered to let us come and live with her and try to start over. That means a move from Texas to Utah. We have family there and a safe place to land, so if we can just get there, things can improve for us and we could get a fresh start again. There would be people to help look after me while my husband works. If we can't get the funds to move, we will become homeless within a couple of months because we can't pay for medical and housing and everything else we owe right now.

This is our ONE chance.

I'm not going to lie, I'm scared.

My health condition makes any stress magnified, causes me to have tachycardia, but this situation and its stress isn't going away. I don't know what else to do except ask if someone could please help us before we lose everything, including the chance we have now to be safe and cared for with our family. Please, if you can help with any amount, we would be so grateful. Although we are not people who have a lot, we have always helped with a few dollars every time we saw someone in need, and I'm hoping that others will see our dire circumstances and help us this time.
