Hello friends, family, kind strangers, and all,

My name is Max Berdyev, and I'm a full-time college student from San Antonio, Texas, at St. Mary's University. In October of 2023 I had to move out and live on my own, managing a job along with classes, along with attempting to balance room and board, tuition, cost of food, health insurance, and maintain my mental health. At the time, I had what I thought was a pretty solid plan; work at my current job and flip items on OfferUp to pay for my bills. In recent months I've hit an all-time low with my prior job cutting my hours for extended periods of time, and other jobs that I applied to either not accepting me or conflicting with my school schedule.

These past two semesters I've had to use student loans to pay off a portion of my tuition, and even with the loans and financial aid, there is still thousands that need to be paid. I have two years left of college and currently on-campus housing is the only home I have. The risk of homelessness for me is high, and although I have a wonderful new job as a bookstore worker at my school, it barely puts a dent in the amount I currently owe and what I will owe in the future, not to mention my overall cost of living.

I come here to GoFundMe as a last resort as I don't know how else I can reasonably make enough this semester (and the semesters ahead) to pay my dues as well as afford basic housing.

Any amount will help me greatly so that I can continue my education, have a roof over my head, and one day hopefully be able to help others who are in situations like mine. I strive to become a financial advisor in the future so I can help those who are financially challenged develop action plans to help get them back on their feet.

My dues for this semester are a total of over $7,000, with my next five semesters to be about $9,000 each. Any amount, even just $1 will help me greatly to whittle those costs down.
