On Thursday, October 15th, around 3:30 p.m., the peace and safety of a loving family of six were shattered. Without warning, immigration officers forced their way into the family’s home, breaking through the gate and sliding door before storming inside.
Inside were Mari Cruz, her three-month-old baby, and her younger brother, Napoleon, all hiding in fear. They thought intruders had entered their home. The officers never showed a warrant or proper identification, even when Mari Cruz begged them to explain who they were and why they were there.
In the chaos, one officer tried to rip the phone from Mari Cruz’s hands as she recorded for her safety, telling her coldly, “I’m in your home now.” Terrified but holding her baby close, she could only pray for it to end. One officer attempted to take Mari Cruz, too, but another intervened, saying, “She has a baby.” In that moment, one small act of mercy may have been what kept a young mother and her newborn together.
When it was over, her stepfather and 20-year-old brother, Napoleon, were taken away. No explanations. No compassion. Just heartbreak.
Now, a mother and her four children are left behind, struggling with fear, grief, and uncertainty. The younger siblings are too afraid to even go to school. The family’s main sources of income — her stepfather and brother — are gone, leaving them in an impossible situation.
They urgently need financial help to cover basic needs, pay rent and bills, and most importantly, find legal assistance to fight for their loved ones’ release and justice for the terrifying way their home was invaded.

El jueves 15 de octubre, alrededor de las 3:30 p.m., la paz y la seguridad de una amorosa familia de seis fueron destruidas. Sin ninguna advertencia, agentes de inmigración forzaron la entrada a su hogar, rompiendo la reja y la puerta corrediza antes de irrumpir dentro.
Adentro estaban Mari Cruz, su bebé de tres meses y su hermano menor, Napoleón, todos escondidos, temblando de miedo. Pensaban que unos intrusos habían entrado a su casa. Los agentes nunca mostraron una orden judicial ni identificación, ni siquiera cuando Mari Cruz les suplicó que explicaran quiénes eran y por qué estaban ahí.
En medio del caos, uno de los oficiales intentó arrancarle el teléfono de las manos mientras ella grababa por su seguridad, diciéndole fríamente: “Ahora estoy en tu casa.” Aterrada, pero abrazando a su bebé con fuerza, solo pudo orar para que todo terminara. Uno de los oficiales incluso intentó llevarse a Mari Cruz, pero otro intervino diciendo: “Ella tiene un bebé.” En ese momento, un pequeño acto de humanidad pudo haber sido lo único que mantuvo a una joven madre y a su recién nacido juntos.
Cuando todo terminó, su padrastro y su hermano de 20 años, Napoleón, fueron detenidos. Sin explicaciones. Sin compasión. Solo dolor y desesperación.

Esta familia no merecía ser tratada así — que violaran su hogar, les robaran su tranquilidad y destruyeran su vida. Cualquier ayuda, por pequeña que sea, los ayudará a empezar a reconstruir y mantener la fe en medio de tanto miedo.
