I've been struggling for a while now, and I suppose now it's finally time for me to come clean and ask for help.

In 2021, I was fired from my first real adult job, right during the heat of COVID, and struggled to get back on my feet finding a place to work. I spent about a year looking for work again, and getting back in the swing of things was rough. I spent a lot of time getting tossed around in toxic work environments, in a manipulative/abusive relationship, dealing with a toxic living situation, and coped how I could. However, during that time, I was also not getting the necessary funds to be able to keep above water. I would try my best to keep afloat with my rent, my power, and other payments, ran up my credit card trying to keep from being evicted, and finally got to the point where I was in too much debt to breathe. I at one point was able to find financial assistance through a local emergency service. However, I can't lie, I was never the best with money, and I recognize that recovering from my mental health crisis is never an excuse. I have slowly and surely started to recover financially overall, but I couldn't solve all the debt, and that's where I need help.

My current emergency is that I'm facing having my power shut off. I was told very recently by my roommates that I only have a few months left living in my current location. They have all decided to move into different locations around the city, and only a few months before our lease is up have I been told that I won't be having any roommates, and I can't afford the rent at this place alone. I am trying to find a place to live, and also get this debt paid off so I can have utilities at a new location, and hopefully start anew.

I have been trying to pay this debt down for years now and if I can't pay it I won't be able to have utilities at any other location, as this is the only company in my area that provides power. This debt is holding me down and I need help to get it out of the way as soon as possible before my power is shut off, and they have taken away my ability to get on a payment plan again.

I ask for your help in understanding, as I realize that this situation is unhealthy, and I will not ever allow it to happen again, but I need to get this off my throat before it suffocates me. The funds from this will immediately be taken 100% to cover debt and the small amount left over will be used entirely for costs related to finding a new place to live as quickly as possible.
