Hello everyone, my name is Madison and I’m not only an addict in recovery, but also someone who’s struggled and has been battling mental health issues for her whole life. Everyday is a fight just like for many others who share a similar story to mine. After spending over half a year in treatment, I’m currently living at an Oxford house sober living here in Land o lakes Florida and so far it has been an extremely rewarding experience. I can honestly say that living here and learning through the house structure and the power of Narcotics Anonymous (NA), I’ve reached a point in my life where I can say I’m actually genuinely HAPPY. Though it has its challenges, this is where I belong. Today I’m asking for your help because ever since transitioning from counties and jobs, it’s been very difficult to keep up with my weekly rent costs here at Oxford house. Although my roommates love and support me they still have to follow the rules and regulations meaning if I can’t make rent, I will have to be expelled and move out. On top of rent, I’m also struggling with legal issues including an outstanding balance of over $1,000 in court fees and restitution that I have to have and pay in just a little over a month or I will end up going to jail for violation per my PO. I’ve made many mistakes in my 23 years of life and as I grow and mature and reflect on my past, I know it’s now or never to make a significant change. And all of these necessary changes…I’m finally ready to commit everything to making them. Because I know truly that for me, it’s a matter of life or death and no more can I take life and everything I have for granted. Because I am so lucky and so grateful to have the support from my dear friends and family because not everyone can say they do. I’m reaching out today for help because more than ever, I need all the help I can get.
