Hey everyone,

My name is Laura Acquard, and let me tell you a little bit about my story.

• So, I have always worked my entire life. Since I was old enough to work, I have. Unfortunately, about 2 years ago, my health started to go downhill fast. I started falling constantly, with no explanation. I would be walking, and then suddenly my balance would just go, and I’d be on the ground. We couldn’t get any explanation for it for several months. After almost 6 months of falling at least 5-6 times a day, a neurologist diagnosed me with early onset Parkinson’s disease. Unfortunately, the meds that they have given me do not help my balance at all. In order to stop the constant falling, after breaking my neck in a fall I took last year, I am now in a wheelchair full time. I need my husband's help with pretty much everything: getting in and out of bed, getting in and out of the shower, the toilet. So my husband has had to stop working because I need help full time, not to mention all of his health issues. We have been living off of my disability check, which is for $2340 a month. Today,July 1st, when they usually send me the check, I received a email that there is paperwork that they need from my doctor in order to continue paying my long-term disability. WTF!!!?? We are in so much trouble. (I don’t know how they can legally do this.)But we need help. Our rent is $1000. Our electricity bill is usually between $150-200 a month. Our water bill is between $40-60 a month. Our car insurance is about $200 a month. Our cell phone bill and wireless internet is $160 a month. Then we still need food, drs appointments and prescriptions ect. Family has been helping regularly, as 2300 a month doesn’t go very far, but making up the entire amount, and considering we don’t know how long until this is resolved, is impossible.So if you could possibly help us out at all, with anything, so that we can survive this month, it would be greatly appreciated!!
