Hello! I am Kit, a queer, black, and trans man living in the metro Atlanta area. I am asking for help because I am unable to help myself. I had a full-time job that I was at for 2 years, but at the start of 2025, I became very sick. I was unable to work most of the week due to this. It only got worse when my mental health started to decline. On the days that I was not physically sick, I was mentally drained. I got to such a dark place that I thought about ending my life.

Now I am happy to say my physical health has improved, but I am still building my mental health. I am working part-time and still looking for more work that will accommodate the workload I can handle. This has put me in a place where I am unable to pay for rent, needed meds for my physical and mental health, therapy/doctor visits, late fees, and upcoming bills. I am constantly working on getting better, and I am working my part-time job as much as possible with the state my mental health is in.

I live with my partner of two years, Ashton or Ash. He is a gay and trans man. He currently works part-time in a cat shelter and is trying to find another job to help support our bills. While we have both been job searching, there haven't been a lot of responses from employers. We also have 3 cats with us. Our oldest is Missy, she has a sensitive stomach and requires special food. The middle baby is Lemonhope, and she loves to be sassy and prove to everyone that she is the queen of the castle. The youngest and newest member of the family is Molasses (Moss). She has the energy of 12 T-Rexes! She is still a kitten and loves to play!

We are reaching out to our community to help with covering rent and bills. It is very hard to ask for this kind of help, especially due to the rising cost of living, and knowing that all kinds of people need help just like us. We have reached a point where we are worried about the status of our housing, as well as having enough food to eat. Anything will help in this tight spot we are in.
