My name is Ed. My wife Connie and I are senior citizens overwhelmed by debt. We both have serious medical issues, resulting in some costs that are beyond the reach of our insurance. Connie has struggled for years with an incurable and painful bladder ailment, and my latest seizure landed me in the hospital. Before that, we were lured into a long-distance dog sale scam that wiped out our modest safety net. The dog in question never arrived, and most likely never existed. Supposedly refundable charges were never refunded. We are deeply embarrassed by this, but we hope our story will serve to warn others. We wanted to replace our beloved beagle, who passed away at age 16. He was Connie's comfort dog. Now we're not sure we're going to be able to keep our apartment.
