Boozhoo GoFundMe Family, my name is Dylan Cook. I was involved in a car accident that has left me paraplegic and confined to a wheelchair. For the last 15 years, I had to learn every day how to live my life with these circumstances, and it was hard. I had chronic pain from a severed spine, including nerve pain. I was given anything to help the pain. With that came addiction. I went 9 years of the 15 years in my wheelchair addicted to opiates, which numbed the pain for short durations. I hit rock bottom in 2018. It took me losing my dad to finally hit rock bottom. It was an unexpected loss that has left a hole in our family. I got through those hard days and still have tough days often, but less. I got sober that fall of 2018 and stayed sober since! (The Creator is good, isn't he?) I recently began knocking down goals to start living this newfound love for life.

All Funds donated will be used for the repairs.

My first goal? Get a job (first job ever at 29 years old) ✔️

Second goal? Get my driver's license! ✔️

Third goal? Get financed for a vehicle ✔️

Final goal? Get my education! 3/4 complete. I got one more test to obtain my GED!

I HAVE BEEN KICKING BUTT ON THE MAJOR 4 GOALS I have set for myself. This is where the help I am asking for is. When I got my vehicle, it's an adaptive van with adaptations for paraplegics, etc. What I didn't know was I needed special insurance to cover the total loss or repairs if needed. So, I got backed into after a hit and run, and both my doors were damaged (the passenger and right sliding door). I took it in to get it fixed through insurance. What I didn't know was the insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of repairs because my full coverage insurance isn't for specialty vehicles. They only cover the van cost and repairs, not the markup for having a specialty vehicle. Now they covered and maxed out what they could, but I am now on the hook for the rest, which happens to be around $5,200. I do not have a steady job anymore, and the job I do have is seasonal and not a set schedule. I had some saved up, and that only covers the deductible. I was doing Uber Eats to supplement my income. If I do not get anywhere, my life will be upended and my life will be back to ruins. I hope you read this far along, and from the bottom of my heart, if you do find it worth your time, I want to say thank you tenfold. I just want to be without that big pit of despair in my stomach when I found this news out today.
