Cathy has been a fighter since the day she was born. She was born with spina bifida and has already undergone more than 70 surgeries in her lifetime — and counting. Despite a lifetime of medical challenges, Cathy has always faced them with strength and determination.
Now, Cathy is in Stage 5 chronic kidney disease, requiring regular dialysis and frequent hospital stays (often a week each month). On top of this, she has lost the ability to drive with her legs, making it extremely difficult to get to her life-saving treatments and doctor’s appointments.
Cathy owns a BraunAbility wheelchair-accessible van, but to keep her independence and mobility, she urgently needs hand controls installed. These modifications cost about $5,000 plus installation, and with Social Security as her only income, the financial burden is overwhelming.
How You Can Help
Your support will go directly toward:
• Installing hand controls in Cathy’s BraunAbility van
• Covering mounting medical bills and treatment expenses
• Ensuring reliable transportation to her dialysis and hospital care
Cathy has spent her entire life overcoming obstacles most of us can’t imagine — from spina bifida to dozens of surgeries to now battling Stage 5 kidney disease. Through it all, she has stayed strong. With your help, she can continue to fight with dignity and independence.
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Even if you can’t give financially, sharing this campaign helps spread Cathy’s story to those who can.
From Our Family to Yours
We are deeply grateful for any kindness you can show. Thank you for standing with Cathy as she continues her fight.
