My name is Brian Scott, and I am 18 years old and a proud student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where I strive to better myself and my community through leadership, perseverance, and education.

However, this past summer brought challenges I never expected. I experienced homelessness and unstable living conditions that made it extremely difficult to maintain consistency in my personal life and academics. There were times when I didn’t know where I would sleep next or how I would afford basic necessities, yet I continued to push forward, determined not to let my situation define my future.

These hardships deeply affected my academic performance and overall well-being. Despite my best efforts to stay focused and resilient, the instability took a toll. Still, I’ve remained committed to my education and to my dream of earning my degree — not only for myself but for those who have supported and believed in me along the way.

I am now at a crucial point in my journey. Without financial support, I will no longer be able to continue my education at UNLV.
