Hi there! My name is Ashley & I'm in need of your support. On August 22, 2024, I was involved in a hit & run accident on the freeway that ended up totaling my 2005 Toyota Corolla.
I've filed a claim with my insurance company & nothing is coming of it.
Luckily, I was mostly unharmed, but now I'm left without a vehicle.
As a small business owner (I'm a massage therapist who teaches clients how to manage their chronic pain, stress, & prevent/recover from injuries through massage, self-myofascial release techniques, & corrective exercise), my car enables me to get to & from work, transport laundry/supplies, network throughout my community, attend events to promote my business, etc.
I moved to California in the summer of 2019, right before the world shut down & I've been slowly rebuilding my life & business for the last 4 years with much difficulty.
I've learned that living here requires having reliable transportation. Unfortunately, public transportation, car rentals, & using Ubers/Lyft rides isn't reliable or sustainable.
Although I've been fortunate to have a loving partner who has been unselfishly carpooling me to work, it has put a strain on our everyday lives.
His 1997 van is not cut out for the daily commutes & this turn of events has disrupted his workflow tremendously.
It's been an emotional journey, not only letting go of my transportation but also letting go of expectations from those I thought I could rely on to help me in times of need.
I'm not one that can easily ask for help, but I'm coming to terms with the fact that I can't do this alone.
I'm working on additional income to help save for a practical, reliable, fuel-efficient vehicle & these funds will certainly help me along this journey.
No amount of support is too little or too much, even if all you can do is share this with your friends.
Without your support, this journey would be so much more challenging.
Every bit will help me along this journey to get back on my feet so I can continue helping my community heal.
I will keep you all posted. Thank you for taking the time to read this, your kind consideration & your gracious generosity.
