Title:
Help Alex Stay Housed and Rebuild for His Sons
Fundraiser Story:
Hi, my name is Christina, and I’m writing this with a heavy but hopeful heart. I’m creating this fundraiser for Alex, the father of my child and someone I’ve shared a deep bond and friendship with for many years.
Alex is a devoted father of two boys—our son who is three, and his older son who is eleven. When the boys are with him, he is fully present: playful, gentle, attentive, and patient. I’ve watched him get down on the floor for hours of rough and tumble, or sit quietly holding space when they’re tired or overwhelmed. No matter how much he struggles, he never falters in his love and devotion to them.
But now Alex is at a crisis point.
Due to severe mental health challenges—including chronic PTSD, autistic burnout, and depression—he’s been unable to maintain employment and is now on the verge of homelessness. His landlord has shown incredible grace, allowing him to stay rent-free since January, but that grace is ending. Come September, Alex will have no place to go. He has no income, no credit, and no savings to secure a new home.
This past year has been incredibly difficult for our whole family. I experienced my own major mental health breakdown, which meant I had to move in with my mother and could no longer be the steady support Alex had relied on for years. With both of us unraveling at the same time, we lost the fragile system that kept everything afloat. And now, it’s time to rebuild—from the ground up.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help Alex:
• Secure safe and stable housing
• Cover several months of rent and basic living expenses
• Begin the process of applying for disability or income support
• Re-engage with therapy and mental health care
• Eventually get back on his feet and provide the long-term consistency his kids deserve
This isn’t just about Alex—it’s about preserving the bond between a father and his sons, and giving a good man a real chance to recover with dignity. He’s not someone who lacks love or potential. He’s someone who’s struggling—and who, with a little help, could get back to the version of himself that we all know is still there.
If you’ve ever known someone who just needed a lifeline in their hardest season, please consider donating or sharing. Every dollar helps restore stability to a life that deeply matters—to me, to our sons, and to everyone who’s ever seen Alex’s heart.
Thank you for reading.
—Christina
