Truthfully, I didn’t realize the depth of the impact of the car accident that resulted in the total loss of my car until September. Every day since July 6 up until September felt like the accident had just happened a few days ago.I have not been able to drive places on my own thus preventing me from doing my usual side job outside of event curation and it has been taking a toll on my finances. Thankfully due to the insurance money from the accident rent was covered for August and September. In August I applied for a city wide grant for artists which I recently found out I was denied. We were planning on using those funds to cover at least half of the rent this month and moving forward seeing as we do the majority of our work from in the home. I’ve applied for countless loans for all of which I’ve been denied. I have applied for traditional jobs for which I’ve been denied. And it seems as though we have exhausted all options up until this point.

I cannot promise that I’ll be able to continue to invest in myself as an artist let alone the community even once I am able to acquire the funds to cover the balance for my October and November rent .Even though this is my passion; passion cannot keep a roof over my head or food on my table. Passion can only take me but so far in this world that we live in so I must find a different approach in order to survive. I appreciate the support of my journey up until this point and I’m grateful for the experiences I’ve had and the impact I’ve been allowed to have on those around me.
