Help Kecia with Her Long Road to Recovery after Stroke
Donation protected

On the morning of October 12th, my dearest friend, Kecia, suffered a major stroke. She is an amazing woman, a loving wife, and a wonderful mother of two beautiful girls, Kiana and Sofia. She has been an inspiration to many and has touched the lives of so many over the years with her warm heart, kindness, charisma, and gregarious personality. She is also an incredible Zumba instructor who loves teaching, music, and learning foreign languages in her spare time.
When we all heard that Kecia had a stroke that fateful morning, we were terrified that she wouldn't make it through surgery to remove the blood clot. We had no idea if she would ever wake up or even recognize us if she did. Amazingly, later that evening, Kecia opened her eyes, and as she looked back at me, I knew she remembered who I was. However, the stroke left Kecia with severe weakness on the right side of her body, rendering her unable to walk, talk, or communicate. After what seemed like the longest three days of our lives, we heard Kecia’s voice again for the first time since her stroke. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
Thankfully, after a lengthy 5 weeks of intensive therapy at the hospital, Kecia has made extraordinary improvements, but she still has a long road ahead of her.
Although Kecia is now back at home, she faces a whole new set of challenges, financially and emotionally. Kecia has not been able to work since she suffered the stroke, and it is unknown if and when she will be able to return to work. We hope to reduce the financial stress put on Kecia and her family during this difficult time with your donations.
Your generous contributions will help cover:
- Hospital bills
- Necessary follow-up appointments with specialists
- Additional therapy sessions
- Daytime caretaker to help with her activities of daily living
- Accessible home modifications and other equipment (e.g., bath/shower chair) that the insurance will not cover
- Daily living expenses during her recovery
Please help my beautiful friend Kecia achieve her ultimate goal of being able to dance again, teach Zumba, and fully communicate with others in all her fluent languages. Any contribution received during this challenging time will be much appreciated and will help Kecia focus on her recovery.
Thank you so much.
