Hi I'm Keaton and here's a little backstory: I was in a SXS rollover accident on October 20th, 2023 which resulted in a traumatic brain injury and respiratory failure. I had a seizure when the accident happened, was life-flighted to the hospital, where I ended up being in a coma for 11 days. November 1st, 2023 is when I started opening my eyes again. However, I can't remember most of Nov., except for when my wife had our first daughter. While she was delivering our baby, I was in another hospital getting my PEG (food) tube installed.

I originally had part of my skull removed to relieve pressure on my brain and then had it replaced December 7th, 2023. However, about 36 hours after the cranioplasty, I had a second seizure. Luckily no damage was done and I was cleared to proceed with rehab. December 13th, 2023 I transferred to an in-patient neuro rehabilitation center in Dallas for 3 months in order to relearn basic life tasks.

We returned home and I hadn't had a seizure in months. To legally drive, you are to have 6 months seizure free. That means June 2024, I was ready to drive again!

I wasn't ready to return to my detailing business last year, so I spent my days driving for Uber. With that, my wife working part time, and the money that was raised (from you awesome donors) was able to keep my family going for OVER A YEAR!

Skip forward to 2025. I am able to run my detailing business again and planned on starting back up once the weather gets a little warmer.

That is, until yesterday- Saturday, January 4th, 2025. I stepped onto the front porch, felt weird for ~5 seconds, fell back and started seizing. I fell onto my rock house and concrete front porch. Luckily, my wife was in the house and saw me fall. She immediately called 911, got me turned on my side and paramedics were on site about 5 minutes later. I was in the post-ictal state until I woke up at the hospital, about 30 minutes later.

To sum it all up! My hope of returning to work and supporting my family is now paused again for at least 6 months due to the seizure. My family and I thank you, even for just reading this far.
