Kayden Iman was born on December 28, 2021, at 23 weeks gestation weighing 1 lb. 4 oz. As a result of his prematurity Kayden was faced with many challenges, which included multiple surgeries and respiratory issues. At just 2 months old, he had a colostomy bag. Kayden met some minor milestones, but at 9 months old he started having seizures. Kayden spent countless days in the hospital during his life. In 2023, Kayden had 3 major surgeries simultaneously.

While his brain function is minor and his mobility is very limited, Kayden still manages to show signs of love with his smile, batting his long eyelashes, and the grasp of his tiny hand. Kayden enrolled in a special education school where he was able to get services to assist with his developmental delays and socialize with peers. On 8/19/25, Kayden was admitted to the hospital due to a fever. After further testing, the next day, Kayden was diagnosed with Stage 4 Liver Cancer. The mass weighed in at 7 centimeters, which was almost the size of his entire liver. Due to Kayden’s existing health challenges, treatment options were basically non-existent. As a result, Kayden was placed under hospice care.

Kayden’s Mom (Kanayshia) has been his Sole caregiver and has been in and out of work often due to his declining health. While Kanayshia was actively paying life insurance, it was discovered that since the policy was not 2 years old, funds would not be available in the event of Kayden’s passing. His Mom is heartbroken and now faced with trying to spend what medical professionals are now saying could be “a few weeks” with him and planning his funeral.
